Well, I already got behind here on my blog... Not sure how that happened!! We will see if we can further it along a day or so here...It is incredibly busy trying to get ready to go out on charter this weekend, but amazingly I think it is going to happen..
Was astonished to see all the commercial boats in Baugher's Bay that had fallen down like Domino's. And I believe this one was the start of it all too..This was anchored badly in the harbor and it had been discussed around circles that we had to get rid of this boat as it was a hazard....
Most of these boats and tugs the Coast Guard would not let sit in the USVI as they were a hazard, so the owners brought them up to the BVI to let them sit where no one bugged them.
What a mess it is now!
I hear through the coconut telegraph that Native Son had sunken boats, or major damage to all their fleet and it is playing a bit of havoc with the ferry schedule. Some estimates say they won't have any running until March. But I also hear from one of the local salvage companies that they were hired to raise one of the Native Sons ferries, and when it was lifted, the company saw that the props were pushed right into the engine room and the thing was barely worth saving so they informed the salvage company that they were not going to pay to have it lifted, at which point the salvage company said "fine, f*** you, and let all the air out of the bags and sunk it again!
Water around the harbors is still pretty mucky and silted up, but I did manage to get back in the water and go for a swim around by Baughers Bay.... Took my little camera and found a nice flame helmet to photograph...
The island is very green and the plants are full and lush looking....
Took some pictures from the water of Cuan Law and Promenade anchored out.....
Had a bit of weather and rain come in while I was swimming.....
And then also found a couple nice jelly fish as well to play with....
We ran into Village Cay and saw the glass bottomed tour boat that I think did about 4 trips in the territory and seems to be just sitting since then. Like many activities here on the BVI side...
The boys were having problems with the tender, probably bad gas from sitting for a few months, but in between pull starting that, and Connor helping Felix pull the engine out of the Blazer, he is an awful mucky puppy!!!
