I left you last night about the time we were just getting dinner on the table. I tried one of Lisa's recipes tonight, and it turned out quite nicely. We took Chix breasts and stuffed it with Boursin, put bacon on top, poached it in white wine and then added a cream of vegetable sauce on top and a shrimp! It turned out quite nicely. One thing I thought when I came back on the boat was that I could NOT do tuna on the first night of charter too many more times. I did not care if the guests liked it, I was bored stiff of it after a decade!
8 is a nice number on the yacht, they fit nicely around the table...Once we get to ten it starts getting tight....
The guests wanted to get to Anegada this week. Or more closely, they remembered the first year when we took them out to snorkel the Rocus and then onto Conch mountain by dinghy as it was flat as can be. Since our winds are hovering around 20 knots this week, Bazza and Smitty had to have a big time planning meeting with the charter today to figure out where we were going...
A great sail back and forth across the channel brought us quite quickly to the Caves. I got to remember what it was like to cook in seas...Bazzas game at the Caves was chucking bread on the guests head to see if he could attract the fish! We forgave him as we have one person who is mostly blind, and by doing this and getting the fish right up to him he could see them!
Speaking of Blindness, this is a perfect vacation for him. He feels so comfortable on the boat, and after being on here a few times, knows exactly where everything is. Not a large place to learn and not having to go to different places to eat every night is really helpful. We, of course, like to tease him by pointing on the goats on the hills to him!
It was one of those perfect picture days at the Caves. The water was absolutely gorgeous. Nice and Clear!
After a morning of galley slaving I managed to put together a cream soup, a caesar salad, a seafood marina topping and some herb and green onion focaccia bread. The guests pronounced it delicious and it actually was quite good!
After lunch we moved down to the corner of the Bay to tempt them into some pull toys. They all had horror memories of the banana boat, but we convinced them the seat of doom was really quite sedate! Especially for those in their twilight years!
We even let them all stay on and they enjoyed the ride! While they did that I disappeared for a little nap...Hard to get used to this charter thing still!!
When I woke up this is what greeted me in my sink. Sigh.... Not the first time I have seen this. Thank god it was only one! Usually it is about 4 of them with me wondering what to do with them!
We trolled a bit up and down the passageway in between Norman Island and Peter Island, and are anchored on the back side of Peter now by Carrot Rock... Severely ice challenged tonight! Nice in the BVI right now, the humidity is low which makes me very happy.
Oh, and by the way Lisa...I did not have to cook any hot breakfast this morning! Feed them too much liquor the night before helps!
