Hello all, about time I did a blog entry... Not too long of one today either though. It is a day in the life on a boat. I was minding my own business working today when lots of smoke started pouring out of one of the air conditioners and it smelt like burning electrical. You know me and my air conditioning! I understand it needs a new blower motor according to Bazza, not like i would know. He said he could spend the day traipsing around St Thomas trying to find something that may work, or he could call the place in Florida and get one fedexed to us overnight. Guess which one he went for? Correct, Fedex!

I know some people want to see closer pictures of some of our "treasures" and it will take me days to put those up, so I will do a few a day.

Just for Heather, here is the gorgeous coloring on this blue pottery jug. Bazza said when he spied it across the sand and went over he kept on repeating "please be whole, please be whole" Alas, not whole but still very pretty!

You can tell that this used to be a coaling station as there is so much coal around, I had to bring up a piece!!

This cup, is very interesting. Not a great picture here, but it has part of an english naval song from the late 1700's on it, along with the words surrounding the poem " to commerce, trade and succefs" (spelling intentional, the old style). Additionally it has 4 engravings of sailing ships around it... Have not had much time to look it up though yet. It sat there for hundred of years and then I chipped it a touch!! Typical...
"The Water grave now open, all dreadful from below,
When the waves move the sea and the stormy winds do blow..
But when the dangers over and we fate we come on shore,
The horrors of the tempest, we think of no more"
By Charles Dibdin

I thought I had found a whole bunch of different tools, when I brought them up and gave them to Bazza he told me they were actually spikes from an olden wooden boat. Some of the wood was still there and there was lots of worm wood...

This torpedo bottle is usually filled with some kind of soda water. This bottle is from Barbados!!

That is enough of those for today. I am like a kid in a candy store!

A friend of ours had a garage sale. They had lived in this house for many years...after selling most everything...

They found this little Water Moccasin Snake in the house and it is poisonous! I would have died!!

And we have a new picture of Smiley, our granddaughter, boy do they grow quickly!!

Can't leave you with a sweet picture, thought some would appreciate this picture and the facts that go along with it! We don't have those here do we?? Otherwise all will be stampeding to come here (that was a bad play on words!)

It was a big night last night. We had dinner at the Green house while we were waiting for Lisa and Richard. We were enjoying the breeze, eating din din, enjoying some early 60's music, when apparently the magic hour of 930 came and it switched to a nightclub! Boy was it loud and boy were we out of their quickly!!

Lisa and Richard showed up (with all their luggage apparently, looking a bit like guests with the number of bags!)

Lisa was put to work right away and we were all happy to see each other, although it was quickly to bed for all of us by that time!

Lisa wanted to prove to my mother that she does wear skirts! Her she is looking a tad school girlish with her new skirt mom!! They have been busy all day running around accomplishing things, so for everyone who wonders if they arrived safely, they did!
