Back to the BVI's one more time...
We packed up the Lion and put it back in it's home under the Pine Trees out at Sooke. It was a sad day! We sure enjoyed our few nights sleep in it though!
The flights were fairly painless back to the BVI, even if it took 4 flights and 24 hours to get here! Bazza was happy cuz on the last flight, Cape Air, (AKA Tin Can, 60's version...) he got to be the co pilot!
This is Soper's Hole, West End, as we were going by it...
The hurricane hole at Paraquita was looking very quiet, but there was a steady stream of boats coming up from Roadtown to take up residence there today with the bullets that are all coming off of Africa looking in our direction for next week!
It was blowing pretty strong, but Promenade was tied up nicely with Simeon standing guard!
For those who are SImeon Starved, here he is working on his boat this afternoon (he runs if I try and get any closer with a camera nowadays...)
He has a really nice dinghy for his boat, but it does not fit on the deck so he is looking for a roll up dinghy. I don't think that he is making such a good trade here, but he says he will get cash as well..(no engine)..anyone have any idea how much cash he should look for on top of between these two dinghies?
My day back on Tortola was complete, as it will be no surprise to anyone that they first thing I thought of was "oh my gosh the cupboards are bare" and I managed to make all the rounds, Bobbys to Cash and Carry to Riteway to One Mart and came back home with enough groceries in case we have to disappear to a hurricane hole any time in the next few days for up to a week! Some choice prices off my bills, for those who are interested:
1 small package of egg beaters (the vegetable ones) $5.28
Campbells Chunky Sirloin Chunky Soup $4.79
1 (small) bunch of green onions $1.99
Lays Tostitos Restaurant Style, 8 oz $4.55
Holsum plain white club bread $3.71 per loaf (at Bobby's) and $4.19 at One Mart
Brie: $14.79 per lb (a staple on charter boats, not a discretionary purchase at all!)
Medium container of Blue Bell Cookies and Cream Ice cream $13.25 (again, not a optional purchase at all!)
Large gallon container of Blue Bell Naepolitian Ice Cream $16.49
1 lb of Vigo Spaghetti $2.49
1 Di Gornio self rising pizza, 4 cheese pizza $13.29 (no wonder I make pizza!)
16 oz Breakstone Sour Cream $3.43 at Bobby's and $3.79 at One Mart (again, you can never have too much sour cream!)
My oldest son Chad, is full speed ahead on a project called Treasury Vodka (He is my som!) Bar and Eatery in the old TD Bank Bldg in downtown Edmonton (hot spot, I know!) he sent me a picture as they have window coverings up now for the construction of it..
AND some other wacky Hucul relatives we have in BC who own a Printing Business, sent me a picture of "Willy Hucul" or "Bernie Nelson" however you want to have it, an ad they did for a music festival in the back woods of BC! Too cute!
And a PDF of a magazine article on weddings and honeymoons in the BVI for those who like reading this stuff!
