We had a ferry (mostly) free night at Caneel Bay last night, and then made our way up to West End to check in. After that, I, of course, wanted to go for a dive before heading back to the Marina and Bazza had a spot he wanted me to check out that he saw on his side scan somewhere off of Great Harbour. In 140 feet. Yes folks, you can get 140 feet in the channel, hard to believe and where he sent me down was NOT that interesting...I saw baby conch shells! Spent three minutes looking around and then had to come back up...

That was 15 boring minutes of a dive after all was said and done, with just that one lone little picture...I asked to drop me off on any close shallow reef so I could at least take a few pictures. He did, off by Peter Island Resort, nothing too remarkable to see, no big fish, although there were some nice coral heads shallow with lots of baby fish...

He was following my bubbles apparently quite successfully as every time I looked up this is what I saw!

Spent a long time at a shallow depth just hanging around...

And by 4 PM we were tied up on dock and I was feeling ambitious for some odd reason and decided to make homemade frites. Since you have to deep fry them twice, it takes forever, in my small oil pots, and I managed to get quite a lot of it on the floor. However, they did taste good, and we all had our share!
I think this is getting REALLY pathetic now when I am getting pictures from former guests of Simeon now with notes like these.. (no names!) Thought you might like to pass it along for the millions of ladies desperatly looking for a great pic of Simeon!
I guess this is someone's way of telling me that i have not been putting up SImeon pictures! What is everyone going to do when charter season is over, and I don't have pictures of boys to put up??It is not like I am going to recycle them over and over again putting up "Simeon" pictures on the blog!
I met part of the owners team from Cooper Island Beach Club a couple weeks ago. They say they are doing some "major" renovations to the bar/restaurant this summer and fall, (he gave an example of being able to have more then 4 people sitting at the bar) and some "minor" soft changes in the rooms, (ie towels and sheets) with more major renovations to come next off season.
Today, I received the following information update on when they are open an closed, for those who may be curious!
To all our valued customers and visitors to Cooper Island,
This summer, Cooper Island Beach Club will be undergoing major renovation works to the Kitchen, Bar & Restaurant. While our main facility is closed, we shall be offering the attached Bar Menu and table-service drinks from The Pavillion, south of the main jetty.
The Public bathroom facilities will remain accessible from the beach and new signage will be in place to direct people and keep them safely away from the construction area.
The SeaGrape Boutique will remain open throughout July & August this year but the entire resort will close for the month of September.
In October, we shall re-open the Pavillion with the Bar Menu and table-service drinks as previous.
