I mentioned a couple weeks ago that the
Virgin Islands Environmental Council (made up of many local small groups) had won an appeal at St Kitts that Quorum filed appealing a lower court decision that the VIEC had brought the case against Quorum and the BVI Government soon enough. VIEC was awarded costs.
I have here the official ruling that basically states the VIEC case against Quorum and the Government can proceed. Quorum could still appeal the case to the Privy Council in England, which would delay the trial and development even further, so lets see what happens. Additionally, if they keeping on losing appeals it becomes more expensive for them as they have to pay VIEC costs.
Since the VIEC funds are all donated by caring individuals and small trusts, this is heartening.
