Well it has drizzled all afternoon, but no wind yet and although progressively getting grayer, not much else happening.... The surf is coming up a bit more as you can see here, but nothing too much yet.

Yeah, that is a water spot in the middle, trying to take a picture of just outside our aft here! Back to more TV me thinks...

Still raining, you can about surf on South Sound Reef now, but still really no wind.
Walker on BVI Pirate Forums came up with this great little chart, of the wind swath prediction laid on top of a BVI chart.
See where the S is??? Where is says something about 125 gusts?? We are right under the first S. That is where our boat it! I hope that nudges away from us!


We are also thinking about our friends Sheila and Bob, from Paradise Connections who live on their boat in St Martin. They were supposed to be heading into the lagoon on the french side this morning, (along with a lot of other boats!) so I hope they are tied up safely!

1:00 in the afternoon, we are ready and tied except for the dinghy, it has been raining hard for the last hour but up until then it was fine. I am hoping to get up my pictures before we lose the internet, so lets see how this works.
I shall save this in parts and update as i go along so I get some of it up anyways... Everything is closed from ports to airport. My stomach is in a bit of a knot...Much prefer when these things come through in the daylight hours. this was peeking out of the hurricane hole about an hour and a half ago...

We put out the rest of our anchors this morning and tied more lines on...

While Bazza got to wade through the mangroves I took pictures of shells! Why not!!





Then it was up the mast for Bazza to remove the rest of our wind vane stuff before it too was flung into the dinghy by this system...

We have not tightened our bow lines yet in case someone else comes into the hole today. I hope not, as they really left it late to prepare...

And now here we have everything out of the cockpit, including all tables. It looks pretty barren!



And yep, of course everything is thrown in the aft, so the cabins and hall are full!



Thanks for all the thoughts and good wishes, I will keep updated as I can, although I understand we will lose internet when the wind gets to 35 knots....
Lisa and Rich:, Not sure how you managed to miss this one!! Good going though, I would rather be cooking in chilly old England about now!

We feel confident that we have prepared about as well as could have. I just have to finish off getting the ditch bag ready (not that we want to use it but you never know do you?)
