In pretty good shape! Flying out of SFO was good. Our flight on Air New Zealand was ok. It was on a 777, but it seemed to be an older plane, and we were surrounded by crying babies. The "premium economy" has a much better pitch in seats and I slept quite well, but some of the promised amenities were either missing or broken or not working very well. for example, we were supposed to have power at our seat for our computers, but it did not work. Even though they had the individual entertainment systems in the seat backs, the remote controls were so worn out it was hard to get into anything you would have to try for like ten minutes to see a show. Also had the seats that you could not put up the armrest so they were very narrow small hard seats. AND I used my soft bunny ears blanky that Bazza told me I would not need EVERY step of the way over! The airport in Auckland was nice and it was amusing to see airline staff wandering around the airport trying to find stragglers they are supposed to have on the plane over and over again. They stopped doing that in North America a long time ago!!
Got our car with no problem at the Adeleide airport and laughed when the navigator in it had an Australian accent! I also laughed watching Bazza drive as this australian turned mostly american trying to drive in australia was having a hard time and kept on turning on the windshield wipers when he wanted to turn on the turn signals!!
Stopped at a liquor store last night to get a bottle of flavored bottle and the only flavor they had was vanilla and the price was $42.00 !! Hello! I guess you have to spend quite a bit of money to be a drunk here! The day before we got here they had a huge wind storm which was the back end of a cyclone or typhoon or whatever they call them here from the northwest with 100 KM winds! Heard a story of a large new resort on the west coast here in that that had an interactive swimming pool and apparently a 15 foot great white shark was washed into it and when a german couple got up early in the morning to go for a swim they got quite a surprise! Yep, that is interactive swimming all right!!
I specifically wanted coffee making supplies in the hotel room for Bazza and we got them! A tea pot with instant coffee! He says he is remembering some things that he has got used to not having not living here, like instant coffee!
What is with that wind and swells in the BVI?? Crazy! Lisa, can you please turn if off by mid April when we get back please???
